Four major precautions for outdoor inspection of drones

Time:2024/2/20 17:05:01

With the gradual deepening of the application of drones in aviation surveying, environmental monitoring, emergency relief, coastal and maritime monitoring, communication relay missions, natural gas/crude oil construction support(pipelines, platforms, etc.),etc Drones can be seen in search tasks, cable inspections, mining, agricultural monitoring, and crop harvest support.
However, when working outdoors, drones need to replace manual inspection and perform tasks in harsh or even inaccessible locations. They are highly likely to face challenges in harsh working environments such as low temperatures, strong winds, and dust, which places high demands on the use and maintenance of equipment. So how should we set the maintenance and parameters of drones?Drones are easy to operate and commonly used new types? When operating outdoor drones, the following points should be noted:
Firstly, select the appropriate takeoff and landing area
The selection of takeoff and landing sites is a basic requirement for the safe entry of unmanned aerial vehicles into operation mode during outdoor operations. When the drone is powered on for self inspection,it will detect and reset its posture. If the drone moves or shakes significantly during startup and self inspection, the drone may fail the posture check, fail the posture check, cause errors,or experience posture data errors during flight.
Meanwhile, when working outdoors,it is advisable to choose areas with less sand and gravel, such as cement, asphalt, etc. As a place for drone takeoff and landing, try to avoid conducting drone takeoff and landing operations in areas with a lot of sand and gravel such as grasslands, beaches, and construction sites.Fine particles such as sand and stones are easily blown in like motors, increasing bearing wear and reducing the lifespan of the motor.Especially for models with gimbal positions located at the bottom of drones, they are susceptible to magnetic substances(such as those in the motor)during takeoff and landingφIron boron magnets should suck in iron filings and should not be blown away with high-pressure gas.Causing equipment damage.
Reasonable maintenance of batteries
The harsh outdoor working environment imposes strict requirements on the use of batteries, especially in cold regions during winter(below 15°C).After the battery activity decreases, the voltage is easily too low,and in severe cases,it may cause the system to shut down.Meanwhile, due to the preheating of the battery, the battery's endurance performance will also fluctuate greatly. It has a certain impact on long-term outdoor work.
